Project Wish FAQ |
What is Project Wish? Project Wish is a community MMORPG in development since Mutable Realms cancelled their 'WISH' Game. If you would like more information about our teams, members, goals and other things, please visit our forum. Our forum is the primary resource for information; it's also a place for community discussion and ideas. Back to top |
Where can I find additional information? Much about our project is not determined yet. Even the development team doesn't know it! This FAQ will be one of the biggest sources of information, as well as the forum, where discussions take place about combat systems, trading systems, game systems, etc. Don't hesitate to post a question, one of us will gladly answer it. What is an MMORPG? MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, which is a game world where thousands of players interact with each other and 'roleplay' their character. This type of game is quite popular in the gaming industry, and is often accompanied by a monthly fee. There are a few free MMORPG's out there which you may try if you're not familiar with the genre. |
Is this game only playable online then? Yes, the game will only be playable online. Back to top |

How did this project emerge? In January 2005, Mutable Realms cancelled their 'WISH' MMORPG. Most of the BETA testers were stunned, including those of us who went on to form Project Wish. In the early weeks of Project Wish, we still had hoped to give 'WISH' Life, hence our original goal was to get 'WISH' back up. Since that proved to be impossible with our resources, we started development of our own MMORPG. Back to top |
Does this have anything to do with Mutable Realms? No. Our project and community have nothing to do with Mutable Realms. However, we are using Mutable Realms' 'WISH' and ideas that made 'WISH' such a great experience as inspiration for our project. Back to top |

How long has Project Wish been in Development? We literally started within days of the cancelation of 'WISH' (Jan. 2005). Project Wish is still a very young project. Serious planning has been our primary focus, as well as getting the tools for the job. For news and development progress, please keep checking back. As our project matures, we'll show more concrete progress. Back to top |
When will this be released? This project is much too young to tell if it will even make it through the fiery pits of game development. Please keep checking the forum often for developments! Be prepared to be patient and not get too excited too quickly. Back to top |
Where will the game take place? Our skilled world team has drawn a map. For now, the first continent is called Tierce, however this may change over time, and likely will. There is a map available in our forum, as well as a video giving a 3d look at the map. (Add links to map/video) Back to top |
Why are you doing this? When 'WISH' was cancelled, many of us felt that hope of a true MMORPG was extinguished. We are hoping to achieve a really great experience, similar to 'WISH'. That is our goal and that is our reason and motivation for being here. Back to top |

I have a lot of ideas and suggestions, who should I contact? We highly encourage you to register in our forum, and post your ideas for feedback and discussion. There is currently no email or official contact for ideas and suggestions. We are very happy to listen to suggestions and ideas to make our Project successful. Especially keep your eye on the Requirements Threads. These are the places where we get the ideas to put into the game. Don't hesitate to give input. Back to top |
Can I be a Beta tester? Our project is still in infant stages. Please check back for updates, and in the future some kind of BETA application. Back to top |

What will be the PC requirements for the game? It is much too early to tell. This information will be released when it is available to us. You should not expect cutting-edge graphical requirements, therefore a middle range or lower range pc should be sufficient. However, the art team is adding cutting-edge items daily, so if you have a good graphics card be ready to use it. Back to top |
What game engine are you basing the Project on? We have decided to go with the Open Source Graphical engine called Ogre. You can discuss this on our forums, and check out their website at www.ogre3d.org! Back to top |
How will all the systems work? (Combat, etc.) Please check our Requirements forum for this information, as well as contributing with ideas. Your chance to influence the game is NOW, so take the chance! Back to top |

How is Project Wish unlike a lot of other MMORPG's? We cannot tell you it is very much different. If you despise leveling treadmill games, this is definitely the project for you. Everything the player does has an effect; all of this is for the ultimate online roleplaying experience. We hope to make everything your character does matter, if it's a quest, an item you crafted, or something else - it matters, and has an effect on the world. Back to top |
What do you hope to achieve, what are your goals? We are trying to get the ultimate roleplaying experience possible in a game. For milestones and more in-depth goals please visit our forum. It is the biggest source of answers for this kind of question. Back to top |
